Fixed Masking Panels
Falcon Screens is proud to announce that vertical, fixed frame, masking panels are now available. These acoustically transparent panels make quick work of changing a screen’s aspect ratio from 2.35:1 to 16:9 without degrading sound quality. Designed with strength in mind, they feature aluminum extruded frames. Home theater enthusiasts can now do away with the annoying grey bars on either side of the image when watching a movie that is not the same aspect ratio as their screen.
The Falcon masking panels are trimmed in the same black velvet Falcon Screen frames use to eliminate image overscan, thereby maintaining a perfectly sharp framed image. In a darkened room, the panels appear completely black.
Scope screens, sometimes called constant height screens, feature ultra-wide aspect ratios. So when watching 16:9 content, viewers see unused screen on either sides of the image. These areas can appear grey with the lights off. Falcon masking panels block those grey areas and reformat the screen for proper 16:9 viewing. For customers with all three front channel speakers behind the screen, the extruded frame measures 1 inch wide, and the standard velvet on the inside edge is 1.5 inches.
